THE ROOM OF GOD'S WORD
We asked does God speak to us?
We discovered, yes He does.
10 He said moreover unto me, Son of man, receive in thine heart all my words that I speak unto thee, and hear them with thine ears,
Ezekial 9-10
We asked WHY does God, all powerful creator of all Heavens and Earth, want to talk to us, being weak humans?
We discovered that He is exposing His heart to us, so we can know our own core heart, since He made us in His image and transforms our hearts into His by knowledge of Him transmitted to us, if we choose to want to know and love Him.
Thus God created the man in his image: in the image of God created he him: he created them male and female.
Genesis 1:27
We "put on the new self, which is continually being renewed in fuller and fuller knowledge, closer and closer to the image of its Creator." Colossians 3:10 Complete Jewish Bible
GOD'S "WORD" IS HOW GOD CHOOSES TO CREATE, AND EXPOSE HIS HEART TO US SO WE CAN KNOW HIS HEART AND TRUST HIM
1. How is God's "word" given to us? We found it in at least three ways. Jesus, in the Holy Bible, and by the Holy Spirit.
A. Jesus is the "living word" who speaks and does the Father's will.
1 In the beginning was that Word, and that Word was with God, and that Word was God.
2 This same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by it, and without it was made nothing that was made.
4 In it was life, and that life was the light of men.
5. And that light shineth in the wilderness, and the darkness comprehendeth it not.
John 1:1-5
B. In print in the Holy Bible.
For the word of God is lively, and mighty in operation, and [1] sharper than any two edged sword, [2]... dividing asunder of the soul and the spirit, and [3] is a discerner of the thoughts, and the intents of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12
To clearly explain , God's word [1] is sharp truth that cuts 2 ways, to expose evil, and to save and free the oppressed with justice that restores all that Satan has stolen, destroyed, or killed, [2] and it lets us see we have a spirit and a soul [our will] for us to unify in intent to choose to do right or wrong, so we can follow God's loving way, and [3] words reveal God's heart, but also our own heart, so we can see if we truly are being kind and loving, or mean spirited and selfish wishing to hate instead of to love.
C. By the Holy Spirit by visions, dreams, divine meetings
with people to help us, supernatural events, so on.
17 And it shall be in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh, and your sons, and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
18 And on my servants, and on mine handmaids I will pour out of my Spirit in those days, and they shall prophesy.
Acts 2:17-18
WE ASKED WHICH BIBLE SHOULD WE RELY UPON FOR OLDEST ACCURACY?
We asked which Bible is the most correct translation into English, our native language, so that we we may know God's true heart's intentions.
Honestly, we had been reading the King James Version for years, and the NIV also, and Amplified. But as we looked around, we did not see a. the profusion of miracles as in the New Testament, or b. the dedication to trusting Jesus as our Pilgrim and Puritan Founding Fathers. We saw Christians with a lot of fear, and judgmentalism, and pride, and self glorification in the name of Jesus.
As with any good mystery, we asked a second question. What did our Pilgrim, Quaker, Puritan early American settlers know that we don't know today? How is it they were willing to get into leaky cold, damp, old ships to travel in ocean storms, to come to a place they had never seen with possibly hostile people to greet them? No health care. No electronics. No communication devises. Yet they risked all to come for their freedom to think, speak, and worship God. What did they "know" in their heart of hearts about God and about themselves?
So we found a 1599 Geneva Bible on Amazon and were curious. The people writing this Bible were mostly scholars escaping to Switzerland from Britain who would kill anyone even caught reading or possessing an English translation of the Bible. These scholars were determined to translate the oldest manuscripts and scrolls they could find into English as accurately as possible.
They wanted God's word to accurately reveal God's heart privately to each individual as the Holy Spirit guided, and daily with a merciful loving God as their daily companion, living in their hearts., minds and souls.
Upon reading these scholars footnotes explaining their English -translated Bible verses, we found what the Pilgrims, Puritans, martyrs of the first century knew. And we share that with you in this website for you to agree or disagree as you are free to choose.
King James Bible deficiencies
King James was very smart, and knew that if every person was guided by God, then what power would he have over them. So he organized his own scholars and committee to write His own translation, and delete the work of the Geneva scholars footnotes that so adamantly exposed that humans are to have individual relationships with their Father in Heaven, guiding them with the footnotes into how the Old Testament is fulfilled in the New Testament.
Scotland, at odds with King James, ordered every home who could so afford it, to have the Geneva Bible. Revolutionary war soldiers from Scotland often carried a version of it called the "Breeches" Bible in their pants or "breeches". Proudly, both of us each have grandfathers who fought in the revolutionary war.
OTHER TRANSLATIONS MAY BE WHAT YOU DESIRE FOR EASE OF UNDERSTANDING.
We also read the King James, the Amplified Classic, the Complete Jewish Bible.
But when we do study a particular chapter or verse, we compare their translations to the 1599 Geneva. EASILY, anyone can now compare Bible translations using Bible Gateway. The Holy Spirit can work with us in a multitude of translations. For example, if we wish to be sure about the correct meaning of John 1:1-5, we can look on Bible Gateway's "other translations" to see how other Bibles interpreted it into English, or several other languages.
See if you agree, examining all other translations will lack the treasure trove of Geneva's committee of scholars' enlightening footnotes--- that we suggest to you are most enjoyable and enlightening, and understand as our loving Holy Spirit directs us individually, privately, and personally.
Wikipedia does a fine job of explaining some of the differences between the King James and Geneva Bibles.
